Join the CDCB Homebuyer's Club

What is the Homebuyer's Club?
The Homebuyer's Club is an educational, self-help process that assists each participant in setting realistic goals, helping with advice, planning for the future and understanding all of the costs involved in homeownership. By participating in the club, each participant will be provided training, support and counseling. Armed with the knowledge and determination, the road to homeownership will become a reality.

How does it work?

Each club consists of seven to ten future homebuyers who meet once a month for a period of three to six months, or six to twelve months, depending on the need. At each meeting, topics such as "overcoming credit problems," budgeting," "money management," home purchasing," "savings," and "home maintenance" will be discussed.

How can I join?

To become a club member, clients will meet with one of our Housing Counselors to determine the needs to be met for you to become a homeowner.

Is there a Membership Fee?

No! The Homebuyer's Club is free of charge. We only ask that each club member be determined and dedicated to becoming a homeowner.

Benefits to You

The Homebuyer's Club will assist you in finding out if you are ready to buy a home. You will find out how much home you can afford based on your income and debts. We can work with you to evaluate your credit worthiness, and if needed, provide information on becoming credit worthy. This will help you towards your goal of owning your own home, and CDCB can help achieve this with:

• Accessibility to down payment assistance programs or closing costs
• Finding out if you qualify for low down payment loan products
• How to shop for a lender that saves you money.
